College Global Health Research Scholars Program for Domestic & International Students 2020, USA

Publish Date: Nov 11, 2019

Deadline: Dec 16, 2019

The College Global Health Research Scholars program awards competitive grants intended to enhance the educational experience of University of Chicago College students by supporting scholarly research guided and mentored by faculty focused on global health issues. These awards are designed to support the student in more deeply engaging with leading research in global health at the University with reduced financial burden during the academic year. These awards are explicitly for students who have identified or are already pursuing research on a specific faculty-led global health research project. Students will develop key research skills, build important relationships with faculty, and contribute to the research enterprise of the University.

College students who receive a research grant will be recognized as College Global Health Research Scholars. Scholars will be supported by quarterly programming designed to enhance the scholars' experience and build a cross-disciplinary research community. College Global Health Research Scholars will be expected to actively educate their peers and the University community on important issues of global health by regularly presenting on their research.

Applications are accepted two times per year – please note the stated deadlines on the application page. Candidates must apply by the stated deadline; these are not reviewed or awarded on a rolling basis. The grants are for $5,000 in total and disbursed in installments of $2,500 each over two, sequential quarters. Graduating seniors may request to receive a one-quarter award totaling $2,500. Awards will not be made to recent graduates or for use the summer after graduation.
