Short-term Visiting Fellowships

The Center for Advanced Studies at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (CASLMU) is a forum for international academic exchange at LMU Munich. It promotes cooperation with national and international visiting fellows who are given the possibility to present the results of their research at lectures and workshops held at the Center. In order to intensify cooperations of researchers at LMU Munich with international colleagues, the Center offers the possibility to invite visiting fellows in form of Short-term Visiting Fellowships for a period of up to three months.

The aim of this program is to invite internationally renowned researchers to LMU Munich who will be able to contribute significantly to existing research projects. The Center for Advanced Studies will provide the financing and the organizational support for a guest visit, the duration of which should be between four weeks and three months, and which should take place between April 2019 and September 2019. Expenses for travel and accommodation will be paid as well as an expense allowance or compensation according to individual agreement to cover operating costs or as a compensation for any loss of income sustained.

Guests will receive a workspace in the buildings of the Center according to requirement and availability and will have access to its comprehensive facilities. Visiting fellows are encouraged to present their research results in lectures or workshops taking place at CASLMU. Applications are open to all professors teaching at LMU Munich and can be submitted in any form. Please outline the manner in which your research can benefit from the cooperation and how the visiting fellow will be integrated into LMU Munich (professional discussions, workshops, lectures etc.). Applications should further contain information on the guest’s academic career along with a list of his/her most important publications, and should not exceed five pages.

Please submit all the application documents required both by mail and electronically in one pdf file by the deadline (date of postmark) to the director of the Center for Advanced Studies: Prof. Dr. Christof Rapp.
