PhD positions in Nuclear Chemistry

The Institute for Neuroscience and Medicine (INM) at the Forschungszentrum Jülich investigates the structure and function of the normal brain as well as neurological or psychiatric disorders. Primarily, the INM conducts translational research with the aim of developing novel procedures for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
The INM-5 (Nuclear Chemistry) focuses on the development and production of new radiolabeled substances, which are used as radiopharmaceuticals in imaging methods of positron emission tomography (PET) in humans for medical diagnostic purposes. The positron emitters Carbon-11 and Fluor-18 are in the focus of the developmental work due to their favorable decay properties.
