V International Printmaking Exhibition Istanbul

ENTRY CONDITIONS

Association of the Museums of Painting and Sculpture is an organization working for the public interest which was established in 1980 for encouraging and supporting artistic creativity , assisting operability of the Museums of Painting and Sculpture, and to found new museum buildings. In addition to the “Contemporary Artists Istanbul Exhibition” which have traditionally been organized for the last 30 years in order to make contributions to association of the contemporary artists to an environment of high quality and to ensure that their basic problems are opened for discussion, the V. International Print Exhibition, which focuses on interpretation of paper as a traditional material with a contemporary perspective, is being organized again this year with an international dimension. Keeping in mind that living as civilized individuals in a civilized society can only be possible by activating the inner dynamics of a society and one of the most effective methods of doing that is the art, starting point of this exhibition is both to incite the artist with a passive material with which he/she can express inner-self, and on the other hand, to ensure the followers meet together with the art according to the conditions reigning at present. Hoping that paper and ink, which are the oldest artistic materials on earth, will achieve new ways of expression with technological developments and contemporary approaches, we aim to carry this exhibition forward to the future, believing that it will fill a significant gap.
