We are pleased to announce that the Institute of Global Health, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva has officially opened is now accepting applications for the  Spring School of Global Health (Geneva, June 1-6, 2015), in collaboration with the Graduate Institute Geneva, Swiss School of Public Health+, Ecole Romande de Santé Publique, and the World Federation of Academic Institutions for Global Health.

Program Objective:

The program is designed to enable students and working professionals with an interest in global health to study various subjects and join the international global health community. For example, courses offered aim to prepare a national delegate for debates during the World Health Assembly (WHA) in addition to examining policy & technical briefs in the agenda of the WHA. Participants are given the flexibility of choosing a maximum of 2 courses (each runs for 3 days) from 8 different courses offered. The unique and flexible structure of the program allows participants to gain a comprehensive knowledge base in global health while offering the opportunity to discuss these relevant issues in a global forum with the opportunity to network.  

Eligibility Requirements:

Priority is given to Ph.D. students registered at SSPH+, other Ph.D. students, and any other professionals or students equipped with master's degrees in the (various) fields of Global Health.

Credits: Each course is granted 1 ECTS, corresponding to 25-30 hrs of student work

Fees:

Each individual GH-course is charged 900 CHF (academics) or 1’800 CHF (industry), 450 CHF for SSPH+ and LMICs students.

Geneva Summer Schools Excellence Scholarships 2015

Geneva Summer Schools offers a limited number of Excellence Scholarships to summer school participants for certain courses.

These scholarships are in the form of partial or full tuition exemption.

The scholarship application is done in the online application form.

To apply for a scholarship, students must include: 

  • Scholarship statement
  • Letter of Recommendation

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, letter of reference, and financial need. Incomplete scholarship applications will not be considered.

ThinkSwiss Scholarships 2015

The Geneva Summer Schools has 4 ThinkSwiss Scholarships to award (up to 1300 CHF each) to students enrolled in Canadian and US Universities who wish to attend the Geneva Summer Schools 2015. These scholarships are sponsored by the Embassy of Switzerland in the United States of America.
