Approximately 25 International "Science and the State" Fellowships 2020-21 at the School of Social Science, Princeton University, USA

Publish Date: May 13, 2019

Deadline: Nov 01, 2019

Applications to the School of Social Science 2020-21

Each year, approximately 25 scholars are selected as Members in the School of Social Science. A completed doctorate or equivalent is required by the application deadline. Memberships are awarded at both the junior and senior levels. They are for the full academic year only unless the scholar is from a country with an academic calendar that is substantially different than the one in the U.S., in which case single-term Memberships will be considered. Scholars may be considered for a second residency if a sufficient amount of time has passed since their initial Membership.

Members are expected only to pursue their own research and participate in the seminars. The theme for 2020-21 is "Science and the State," but applications outside the theme are also welcomed.  An interdisciplinary dialogue will be fostered and applications are strongly encouraged from scholars across the social sciences, whether or not their research corresponds to the theme.

Funding for Member stipends is individually negotiated, taking into account the applicant’s base salary and the level of sabbatical and other grant support that he or she can secure. In setting compensation, the School attempts to provide half of the current academic base salary for all Members, up to a maximum stipend of $75,000

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Applications must be filed electronically through the Institute’s online application system. They will be accepted beginning June 1. The deadline is November 1. It is expected that the selection process will be completed by early January.
