Linda Hall Library
The Linda Hall Library invites pre-and post-doctoral scholars of exceptional promise to apply for its 2018/19 fellowships in the history of science and related areas of science and technology studies. The Library offers researchers a setting that allows for deep immersion in its outstanding collections and a rich intellectual community of in-house experts, fellows, and scholars from nearby Kansas City institutions.
Fellowships are awarded for the duration of 1 week to 10 months.
Residential Fellowships
The Linda Hall Library offers residential fellowships from one to ten months for pre- and post- doctoral scholars whose work would benefit from research in the Library’s collections.
Fellowship stipends are offered up to $3,000 per month for pre-doctoral students and up to $4,200 per month for post-doctoral scholars.
80/20 Fellowship
The Linda Hall Library launched an innovative 80/20 Fellowship in the 2017/18 academic year. To prepare graduate students for diverse career possibilities within and outside the academy, 80/20 pre-doctoral fellows spend 80 percent of their time pursuing dissertation-related research in the Library’s collections and 20 percent gaining valuable career-related skills as they plan and curate an exhibition or public history project drawing upon the Library’s holdings.
The fellowship is for the entire academic year (10 months) during which time the fellow will work concurrently on his/her research and project in collaboration with members of the Library staff.
