The Latin American and Caribbean Studies Section (LACS) of the Southern Historical Association (SHA) invites submissions for the 2017 Kimberly S. Hanger Article Prize. The prize will be awarded to the best article appearing in 2016 in the fields of Latin American, Caribbean, American Borderlands and Frontiers, or Atlantic World history. The prize will be delivered at the 2017 meeting in Dallas, TX which will be held from November 9 to November 12, 2017.

The author must be a LACS member by the time of submission. Submit an electronic copy of article submissions to each of the committee members below: a title and one-page abstract and an electronic version of the article. Deadline for submission: May 15, 2017.
