The Open Society Foundations – Armenia is currently seeking applications for the following position:
Coordinator for Education Concept Implementation
This position is under the supervision of the Executive Director. The candidate’s responsibility will be to oversee the successful implementation of the Foundation’s Education Concept strategy in synergetic cooperation with other concepts and fields. He or she must work closely with the Foundation’s other Program and fields coordinators, experts of education area, representatives from education institutions, policy makers and international community to facilitate the Foundation’s Education initiatives.
Qualifications will include:
- Dedication to the ideas of open, democratic and tolerant society and transparent and accountable government
- Strong interest and relevant experience in the field of education policies
- Adequate knowledge of the current education field and reforms underway in Armenia
- Minimum Masters degree preferably in social sciences
- Seven years minimum experience in an international organization working in the education or relevant field
- Good working knowledge and understanding of the policy context with policy analytical and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Discretion and ability to handle confidential issues
- Self-motivation with an ability to set and meet goals
- Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work long hours
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capacity and willingness to study new areas and develop new skills
- Fluency in English and Armenian
