About the fellowship 

The position is subjected to a positive decision by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and shall be filled as soon as possible.

We are seeking to appoint an internationally renowned scientist working on the field of computer-aided drug design and drug synthesis (medicinal chemistry). Teaching experience should cover pharmaceutical chemistry. The candidate should have a scientific expertise complementary to already existing research groups at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. His scientific expertise should allow close cooperation with other research groups in the field of lipid signalling, inflammation or oncogenic signalling. The successful applicant is supposed to cooperate within interdisciplinary research projects of the faculty.

The Professorship will be set up as part of the Heisenberg-Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Therefore, the successful application to the DFG for a Heisenberg-Professorship is a prerequisite for the establishment and filling of this position.In line with the standards of the DFG, the position is initially limited to a 3 year W2-professorship and can be converted into a tenured W2-Professorship, if receiving a positive evaluation. The designated salary for the position is based on “W2” on the German university scale or equivalent.
