About the fellowship
The initial tenure track appointment is for six years (§ 64 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Hessen (HHG)). Upon positive evaluation, the incumbent will be promoted to a permanent position
at a higher level (W3).
The successful candidate is expected to cover all aspects of documenting natural languages in both research and teaching with a special focus on phonetic analysis. Distinguished competence in phonetics and language processing as well as broad experience in linguistic fieldwork are considered basic prerequisites. Moreover, requirements include pertinent publications in both printed and digital form. Long-time experience in academic teaching and the successful acquisition of external funding are decisive advantages. The position holder will also actively participate in the planning and development of methods of Digital Humanities within the study program in Empirical Linguistics.
The designated salary for the position is initially based on “W2” on the German university scale or equivalent. Goethe University is committed to increasing the proportion of female scientific staff and therefore encourages women particularly to apply.
