Residencies

The Residency Program provides space and time for artists (visual artists, writers, composer/musicians, performance artists) to create art in a unique and supportive environment. Elsewhere consists of artistically crafted living and studio spaces. Time spans are individually based - 1 to 6 months.

About the fees:

Our cost to provide a month long residency at Elsewhere Studios is $2000 per resident. We are committed to keeping this experience accessible to all artists regardless of ability to pay. Therefore we have set the residency fees on a sliding scale starting between $600 and $850 per month (depending on space) and going to $2000 per month. We raise the remaining funds through grants, donations, and fundraising events which require a big investment of time and energy on the part of our staff, board, and awesome volunteers. We trust that our residents will place themselves honestly on this spectrum, and are deeply appreciative of any funds that are contributed above the base amount in our sliding scale to help support this vital work. Also, we occasionally have donations that are earmarked for scholarships or stipends. If this would help make a residency possible for you, please inquire about availability.

Elsewhere is a choose-your-own-adventure style residency. Situated in downtown Paonia, the spaces are versatile, providing residents with opportunities to connect and interact with other artists in the community, to create or participate in art exhibitions, and to teach classes or workshops.

Please email us (info@elsewherestudios.org) if you would like to be on a list to be notified of openings due to cancellations.
