The Topic and Purposes of Religion, Ethnicity and Nationalism Summer School
This summer school is a five-day course taking place from 12–16 September, 2016, Ohrid. It will bring together young scholars and researchers from different countries from the region and eminent international lecturers
The main purpose of the summer school is to contribute towards overcoming the status quo in the situation with the religious, national and cultural differences among the academic youth in the region. In this year's programme the summer school will discuss issues and questions arising from how religion, ethnic belonging, nationalism and identity affect the society and the individual. At the same time, the summer school will research the relations between the state and religion, particularly how the concept of mutliculturalism functions and is applied in the contemporary societies.
Eligible participants
Young scholars and researches aged 18-28 whose educational background is in corelation with the topic, especially students of the religious universities; social or political sciences. Each participant is expected to take active part in contribute to the workshops. The working language is English.
Application details:
Participation at the summer school is free of charge. The accommodation and travel costs for the participants are covered by the organizers.
