English is the language of instruction for all Methods School courses.

All participants receive an ungraded certificate of attendance on the last day of the Methods School.

Exam

The Methods School courses are not automatically examined. However, participants can sit an optional exam for a fee of S$100 (excl. 7% GST). The exam is set and graded by the Methods School instructors.

Participants who successfully complete their course and pass the exam receive a graded Methods School certificate.

Please note that the certificates are issued by the IPSA-NUS Summer School for Social Science Research Methods and not the National University of Singapore. If you want take Methods School courses – as a stand-alone module or as part of an independent/supervised study project – for credit towards your degree, you need to inquire at your home university to determine whether and under what conditions this may be possible.

Choosing a Course

Read the course outlines and detailed descriptions carefully before choosing a Methods School course. For successful learning, you should have the background knowledge necessary to follow the course of your choice. Therefore, base your selection upon both your research goals and your previous training.
