Opportunity for Black Sea Link and Pontica Magna Alumni:
Return Research Stay at NEC during the academic year 2018-2019
In the framework of its Pontica Magna Program, New Europe College offers alumni of the Black Sea Link and Pontica Magna Fellowship Programs the opportunity to apply for a research stay of one or two months in Bucharest. The stay should enable successful applicants to refresh their research experience at NEC, to reconnect with former contacts, and to establish new connections with current Fellows. The Pontica MagnaFellowship Program targets young researchers, media professionals, writers and artists from the countries around the Black Sea: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Eligibility and conditions:
Alumni of the NEC Black Sea Link and Pontica Magna Fellowship Programs who are interested to pursue or complete projects using the research facilities available at the NEC or in Bucharest may apply. Candidates should send an outline of their intended project and a letter of motivation, indicating what they have achieved subsequent to their former Fellowship at the NEC and, in particular, to what end they would use the proposed research stay.
Returning Fellows are expected to take part in the weekly NEC seminars, together with all the other Romanian and international scholars present, and in other scientific events organized by the institute. During their residency, Returning Fellows will be invited to present results of their stay.
Returning Fellows are granted a monthly stipend of 750 € plus accommodation and travel expenses. Their stay will be covered by a special contribution within the Pontica Magna Program, supported by the German VolkswagenStiftung.

Applications (updated CV, short project description and letter of motivation) have to be submitted in electronic format only, to the address: applications@nec.ro
Candidates are asked to enter in the Subject field of their e-mail message “Returning Fellows – NEC Alumni”. Please also indicate in your letter which period (one to two months during the interval October 2018 – July 2019) you would like to spend at the NEC.

We will acknowledge the receipt of the application and confirm that the application requirements have been met within 10 days after the deadline.
