External Suzy Newhouse Faculty Fellowships

Applicants for External Suzy Newhouse Faculty Fellowships should submit by December 10th, 2017: 

  1. A research proposal of no more than 1250 words, describing the project and plan of research for the proposed residency with brief bibliography
  2. A curriculum vitae
  3. A description of the broad theoretical framework and a list of critics or theorists you often refer to in your work and thought. Also include 3-4 people from the contemporary academic scene whose work you estimate to be exciting, and which intersects with your own theoretical and methodological approach. This work need not be drawn from your own discipline
  4. The names and contact information of three referees, whom you have asked to submit letters to support your application.
  5. A cover letter that makes clear your reasons for wishing to work at the Suzy Newhouse Center and whether you are willing to be considered for an unstipended as well as a stipended fellowship ($50,000/AY).

Applicants should contact recommenders directly and ask them to submit their letters by the December 10th deadline. Applicants should instruct referees to submit their letters in electronic form (PDF preferred) via email to nchadmin@wellesley.edu. 

Applications can be submitted by regular mail to The Suzy Newhouse Center for the Humanities, Wellesley College, 106 Central St. Wellesley MA 02481-8203; or by email tonchadmin@wellesley.edu. Applicants will be notified by the end of March 2018 whether they have received a fellowship.
