* Online links, digital files (i.e. mp4), Blu-ray discs are NOT acceptable.
Please do not use any labeling sticker on your DVD. Simply write the following information on the face of the disc directly.

After sending your package, please send the following information by email to entry2017@yidff.jp

Receive confirmation that your materials have been received

After we have received all of the materials required for entry and confirmed that the preview video is playable in our player, we will send you a confirmation email.
If you do not receive confirmation within six weeks, please contact the Festival office.

Can anybody enter a film in the festival?
Anybody can. But please read the entry regulations carefully first. For details, please see the Entry.

Can any kinds of film (genre) be accepted?
If producers intend a film to be documentaries, we accept it as entries.

Where can I obtain an entry form?
Apply online from the YIDFF website. If you would prefer to mail your application, please contact the Yamagata Office by fax (+81-23-625-4550) or email.

What’s the International Competition?
Approximately 15 feature length films are chosen and screened from new works submitted from around the world. Prizes are awarded by a panel of jurors at the conclusion of the festival.

What’s New Asian Currents?
This program introduces and supports works by rising documentary makers who either originate or reside in Asia. There is no restrictions on format or film length. Works are chosen and screened from submitted works. Prizes are awarded by a panel of jurors at the conclusion of the festival.

How much is the entry fee?
Free.

Prizes are chosen by a panel of jurors and awarded to films screened in the International Competition and New Asian Currents.
