International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw Group Leader Position

We seek talented, dynamic, and motivated scientists, preferentially (but not limited to) at the early stage in their career, to establish research groups. The successful candidates must have an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments and will develop an independent research program that complements existing research in the IIMCB. The new research groups are expected to obtain extramural, national and international funding.

The IIMCB provides stimulating and interdisciplinary research environment and research opportunities of the large biomedical campus with the possibilities of selecting PhD students and postdoctoral scientists from leading Polish academic institutions. The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and has excellent core facilities and supportive administration, including a grant office. Initial appointment of a group leader is for five years with the possibility of extensions and entering into a rolling tenure based on research evaluations, and according to a schema adopted by the IIMCB for the faculty members. The new positions are open from October, 2016, however the start date is negotiable. The IIMCB offers a furnished laboratory space, salary of a Group Leader and a competitive package. The IIMCB research topics cover a wide spectrum of structural biology, bioinformatics, computer modeling, molecular and cell biology, neurobiology, cancer biology, and developmental biology (zebrafish model). IIMCB is involved in various national and international research projects including those funded by ERC. The environment of the Institute is international and the working language is English.
