International Conference on Academic Integrity

University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) in collaboration with International Centre for Academic Integrity (Rutland Institute for Ethics, Clemson University) invites submissions for the International Conference on Academic Integrity – Middle East Chapter (ICAI-ME 2016). The conference aims to bring together educators, students and industry to discuss, create and promote the culture of integrity across school and university campuses in the region. The program aims to feature an array of original research, best practice examples, expert advice and fresh perspectives on topics such as plagiarism, cheating and possibilities of honor codes and councils.

ICAI-ME 2016 is seeking the submission of high-quality and original full papers, abstracts/late breaking papers or poster abstracts. Submissions will be reviewed by experts on the basis of the originality of the work, the validity of the results, chosen methodology, writing quality and the overall contribution to the field of academic integrity.

Are you creative? Can you come up with a creative or humorous idea on the topic of Academic Integrity?

At this year's conference, we are looking for innovative, creative and unique student perspectives on how your peers, schools, universities, parents, friends siblings approach the issue of cheating and plagiarism intersect with your real-life experiences.

Winner Announcement

Shortlisted entries will be displayed at the International Conference on Academic Integrity - Middle East Chapter (ICAI-ME 2016) which will be held at Universiy of Wollongong in Dubai between March 26 - 28 2016. Internationally renowned academicians wll judge your posters over two days of the conference. Winners will be announced at the closing ceremony and winning poster pictures will be posted online.

Eligibility

Students from middle/high schools and universities (undergraduate) are invited to participate in this competition. In order to be eligible, each submission:

• be of good qualiy

• should not be disrespectful or offensive or abusive or defamatory in nature

• should use all images which are primary (with permission) or cited

Entry Form and Registration

Will be available from December 15 2015 onwards

Terms and Conditions

• Entrants must be students ONLY

• Entrants may submit work individually or in groups of three (3)

• Original work only (work should  not be reused from previous events). 

• Entrants warrant that their submission is entirely their own copyright and does not infringe the rights of any third party

• Entrants must submit Photo Student ID as proof of enrollment along with registration form

• Students may enter more than one work for consideration

• Winners will be decided by the panel of distinguished judges based on their creativity, originality and successful presentation of the creative brief

• Successful entries will be photographed and uploaded to the website

• Entrants consent to the use of their entries for educational, research and/or teaching purposes by ICAI-ME

• Entries will only qualify upon submission of a signed and completed registration form for ICAI-ME 2016 along with registration fee payment.

• Entrants grant ICAI-ME the right to reproduce, archive and communicate their submission for educational, research and/or teaching purposes.
