Hochschulwerk Scholarship for International Students

The Hochschulwerk of Witten/Herdecke University (UW/H) is proud to announce its new Scholarship for International Students from Lower Income Countries. The scholarship is financed by the students of Witten/Herdecke University through their contributions to the Hochschulwerk, the funds are administered by the Sozialausschuss (Social Committee of the Student Union).

This funding forms a generous programme of non-repayable support to help ensure that a Witten degree is accessible to all academically talented international students regardless of family income. As tuition fees can be paid after the completion of the studies in dependence on the personal income (inverse contract between student generations), this award is intended to help with living expenses.

The scholarship comprises a monthly stipend of €700.- for a maximum tenure of 24 months.

Eligible are international students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Nationality of a lower income country (annual GDP/capita less than 10.000,00 $)
  2. Successful application for a degree programme at UW/H
  3. Personal need of funding (to be confirmed by the Social Committee)

  • Motivation letter
  • CV
  • Confirmation of enrollment

and should be submitted to: sozialausschuss@uni-wh.de
