The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences invites applications for the position of a  Full Professor (W3) of Applied Entomology  

at the Institute of Phytomedicine to be filled in winter semester 2017/2018.  

The successful candidate will teach Applied Entomology in its complete breadth in the study programs of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and will participate in teaching in the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Participation in programs dealing with Integrated and Biological Pest Management is expected.  

The research focus of the professorship should be in the field of bi- or multi-trophic interactions of organisms (e.g. plant-insect-fungus) and/or the field of novel strategies for pest control using state of the art technology. Methodological approaches should include a combination of biochemical, physiological, molecular, and/or cytological techniques.   Participation in the interdisciplinary centers and networks, as well as cooperation with other groups at the University of Hohenheim is expected.  

The position offers attractive conditions for first-time full professor appointees. Prerequisites for applicants are habilitation or an equivalent research and teaching record that may have been established during a Junior or Assistant Professorship.  

The advertised position is tenured. If appointed as full professor for the first time, the University of Hohenheim reserves its right to a probationary employment. With equal qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with disabilities.
