For the 2016 photo contest, take your best shots of the incredible Blue Hills!
Instructions and Rules
Applicants may submit up to four (4) photos between March 7 and September 16. Photos will be approved within 7 days of submission. Once approved, photos will be posted for the public to vote online. Two prizes will be awarded. Photos may be submitted and voting continues until 5:00 pm on September 16th, 2016.
Prizes
Two prizes will be awarded. One prize will be awarded to the photographer whose photo receives the most electronic ‘votes’. Another prize will be awarded by a panel of judges. The prize for both winners is a $250 L.L. Bean gift certificate. Winners as well as other contestants will be featured on our website, social media and newsletter. All photos are displayed in a PowerPoint presentation at the Friends of the Blue Hills Annual Celebration and contest winners receive a free ticket to and recognition at the event. Select photos may also be included in a Friends of the Blue Hills calendar.
To enter or vote in the contest, you must complete a short online registration.
Photo Subjects
Show us what makes the Blue Hills so incredible! Subjects can include people or critters in the Blue Hills – or whatever you see in the Blue Hills that you think makes it so special!
All photographs and subjects must be taken within the Blue Hills park boundaries. Light digital editing is allowed, such as sharpening focus or adjusting color balance, but major subject elements cannot be digitally added or deleted, or composites created.
If possible, when you submit your photo, please note where in the Blue Hills the photos were taken.
Photo Eligibility
Photos that have been submitted to a previous Friends of the Blue Hills contest are not eligible. If the photo includes people, written permission of the subjects must be available upon request. Friends of the Blue Hills reserves the right to disqualify any photo or contestant for any reason.
Photo of the Month
Until September 16, we may feature photos from the contest for a Facebook and/or Twitter ‘vote.’ This is not part of the official judging process.
Contest Deadline
Submissions must be received by 5:00 pm September 16, 2016.

The Contest is open to all photographers, worldwide.
Terms
By submitting your photographs, you agree to allow FBH to use the images in the organization’s educational materials, lectures, publications and non profit promotional materials. You also give permission to FBH to submit your photo(s) to newspapers and web publications (with credit to you as the photographer). By submitting the photos and signing the submission form, you certify that the image(s) submitted were taken by you and that you have not used part or all of an image taken or owned by another individual, organization, or corporation. You also certify that you have the permission of any people who are clearly visible in the photo, especially children. FBH agrees not to transfer, license or sell reproduction rights for your photographs or use them for commercial purposes.
