Communicating with Influence:

Using words, body language and accent that make a difference

This is a hands-on workshop on effective verbal and non-verbal communication, including creation and delivery of effective letters, briefings, and presentations at an executive level. It is organized into three core modules covering (a) verbal business communication; (b) written business communication; and (c) communication through presentations. Special emphasis is placed on influencing action by leading more effectively through well-organized and successfully-executed business communication strategies. Participants learn how to create carefully-planned and confidently-delivered emails, presentations, speeches and other forms of business communication

In this course you will:

  • Improve your verbal communication quality, using power words, and making verbal communication more persuasive by combining words with the right gestures;
  • Learn and visualize the importance of effective eye-contact, and appear more professional, open and confident;
  • Effectively organize your written business communication at an executive level and obtain real benefits for your business;
  • Learn how to organize and deliver effective, to-the-point, power-packed presentations at the executive level.

About the trainer: Sergey Tantushyan is a management and strategy consultant with 15 years of experience. He has demonstrated results in strategic planning, managing organizations in complex environments, and presenting development plans to management, both locally and internationally. His prior work includes positions as Head of Strategy at AmeriaBank (Yerevan), Economist Project Manager position at The Conference Board (New York City), and BAB Program Chair position at the American University of Armenia (Yerevan). More rescently, Sergey had a top management position at a major philanthropic foundation with responsibilities spanning the world’s longest ropeway, 100 LIVES, and UWC College in Dilijan, Armenia. He also has eight years of teaching experience in Managing People and Organizations, Business Communication, Entrepreneurship, Competitiveness and Business Strategy.

Enrollment: To enroll in AUA Extension courses, please go through the following steps (see below for the Armenian version):

  • Visit im.aua.am..
  • Create an account by clicking New User Registration.
  • If you are not a new user and already have an AUA account (having previously taken the AUA e-Math Test or applied to AUA), you should log into the account that you had created at that time.
  • If you just registered as a new user, you will get an email asking to activate your account.
  • Now, for registering to take a course, choose the Extension tab, then Extension Applications, and apply for the course(s) you choose.
  • After you register online, your application will be reviewed and you will receive an email acknowledging your application.
  • Closer to the course start date, you will receive another email confirming your enrollment, requesting that you make payment before the course start date. The fee can be paid online via credit card or through the tandem machine (located at the entrance to AUA). Alternatively, you may pay the fee via bank transfer to American University of Armenia Fund, account 001-006402-001, HSBC Bank Armenia, indicating your full name (as in the registration) and the course you are paying for.
  • The completed application together with the record of payment completes your enrollment.
