About the scholarship 

Ten scholarships are available of £3000 per annum towards your tuition fees. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit, positive community contribution, and financial need. The deadline for applications is 9 June 2017. Applicants will be informed within two weeks of the submission deadline if their application has been successful.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must have submitted an application for one of the undergraduate law degree programmes (including Senior Status LLB Law) and received an offer before submitting anpplication for a scholarship (if an application form is required. See website for details).
  2. Candidates must be classified by the University as international / overseas students for fee purposes.
  3. Candidates must have Canadian nationality or residency to be eligible for Canadian Excellence Schoalrship.
  4. Candidates must not be in receipt of any other undergraduate scholarship for International Students. If successful with two or more scholarships, only the scholarship of the larger value will apply.
  5. The scholarships are awarded in the form of a reduction in the tuition fees payable.
  6. Where a scholarship is awarded to a candidate who is also eligible for a fee discount, the discount will be calculated after the scholarship reduction to the tuition fees payable has been made.
  7. Scholarships are only available for students studying on a full time basis who are commencing their course in September 2017
  8. Where a scholarship is awarded to a candidate and the candidate then does not take up heir place in September 2017, it cannot be rolled over to subsequent years.

Conditions

  1. All our scholarships offer only partial funding for your studies. If you are awarded a scholarship you will need to pay the balance of your tuition fees and living expenses.

  2.  Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, positive contribution to the community and / or financial need.

Completing your application (if an application is required)

  1. Make sure that you complete all five sections the application form. Please type or write clearly in black ink. You must sign the form personally (not third party or agent).

  2. Please ensure that you include copies of your transcript(s) so that the panel can fully assess your academic performance. If you are submitted photocopies / scanned copies of your transcript, please ensure that you include a copy of the reverse of your transcript ad this will include grading information. Transcripts must be in English.

  3.  Make sure that you include all relevant information even if it has already been submitted with your application for a place at the University.

You can submit your completed application form and transcript in one of the following three ways:

  • You should only submit one copy and it does not need to be bound or submitted in a folder.
  • When your application is received it will be acknowledged via email.
  • Applications must be received by the stated deadline. The deadline will be displayed on the
  • website and the application form.
  • Applications must be received by 13:00 (UK time) on the deadline date.
  • Late entries will not be considered.

Notification

Successful candidates will be contacted, wherever possible, within two weeks of the
deadline. If you do not hear from the University by the relevant date, you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful and that you have not been selected for an award. We will contact you by email therefore please ensure that your email address is accurate and legible.
The decision of the selection panel is final and the University will not enter into correspondence unless it is able to make you an award.
