Postgraduate Study in the Faculty of Arts Postgraduate Teaching Scholarships in English Literature, 2017/18
We are pleased to announce two postgraduate research teaching scholarships for 2017/18 entry for new students embarking on an MPhil/PhD in the Department of English.
Details of the award are below:
- A stipend of £4000 per annum, for three years. Recipients of the stipend will be expected to carry out 3 hrs per week of undergraduate teaching during term time (except during TB1 of year 1, when the selected candidates will undertake CREATE teacher training
- The award is renewed annually subject to satisfactory progress.

Please apply in writing to Professor Andrew Bennett, A.Bennett@bristol.ac.uk, with a statement (no more than 1 page) of your suitability for the scholarship including your experience and/or suitability for undertaking teaching at this level.
To be eligible for this award you should also, before the deadline, have made an online application. Please select English on the Programme Choice page and enter details of the scholarship when prompted in the Funding and Research Details sections of the form. Anyone wishing to be considered for this award who has already submitted an application to the University should write to Professor Ad Putter (with the statement described above).
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in May, and will be expected to give a short presentation on teaching practice as part of the interview process.
