About the program
Applications are invited for a full or part time PhD (via MPhil) studentship in the School of Social Work and Community Engagement in collaboration with McGill University, Montreal, Canada. The studentship is tenable for up to 3 years full-time or six years part-time [subject to satisfactory progress] and will cover the cost of tuition fees at UK/EU rates. International applicants may apply only for the full time studentship and will be required to pay the difference in tuition fees. The successful applicant will be required to comply with the terms of funding. It is expected the successful applicant will commence 1 October 2017.
Project Title: Sexual Violence on University Campus
Project Description
A full-time 3 year or six year part-time PhD studentship is available exploring sexual violence on university campus in the UK and Canada. It is a collaborative, international study funded by the Canadian Social Science and Humanities Research Council. The PhD student will be based in the Connect Centre for International Research on Interpersonal Violence and Harm, School of Social Work, Care and Community at the University of Central Lancashire. The successful candidate will focus on sexual violence on university campus in the UK, using an intersectional approach and ensuring that student voices are central to future policy and curriculum development. S/he requires skills to work with a range of stakeholders, to work collaboratively with Canadian colleagues and be confident in using social media and related technologies.
Candidates should have (or expect to hold) a UK Bachelor of Science degree at 2:1 or above in a related area (or equivalent qualification).
International applicants require an English Language level of UKVI IELTs 6.5 (no sub-score below 6.0) or equivalent qualification.
