“The Color of Blue” The color of blue is the color of the sky and the color of the ocean. The color of blue is also the color of sapphires and the color of flowers. Whether it is azure, cobalt or cerulean it is a color of importance and beauty. It is a color of nature. Submit your images of blue.
Eligibility
Contest is open to all individuals 18 years and older. All countries accepted. This competition is open to both professional and non-professionals. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Certain restrictions may apply. Local regulations and laws governing this contest may prohibit certain entries and the disbursement of winnings. Each entrant/submitting photographer assumes the responsibility to be aware of, observe and to comply with all laws and regulations local and/or internationally that govern their submissions and he or she assumes the responsibility for their individual eligibility.
Submission Details
Both black & white and color photo image files will be accepted (unless otherwise specified.) Please submit all images online. Only JPG/JPEG files will be accepted. Images with watermarks, captions and/or borders will not be accepted. The size of the images should be 1200 pixels as the largest dimension (width or height.) All layers should be flattened and have a jpg compression quality of 7 or 8. Images should be saved with a resolution of 72ppi. Images will be viewed as sRGB profiles. File names should be in the following format: Lastname_Firstname_image1.jpg, Lastname_Firstname_image2.jpg, etc. Do not use special characters. There should only be one period just prior to the file extension (i.e. .jpg). Please note: image title is not the same as file name. Each entrant may submit up to 4 (four) images.
Judging Regulations
Wining images will be selected on the following criteria: 25% credit to adherence to theme of contest 25% credit to originality of thought 25% to artistic interpretation 25% to photographic skills. Images will be evaluated by the Picture Compete staff judging committee. All decisions are final.
Prizes
Winners will be announced via the WPN (World Photography Network) newsletter 7-14 days after the close of the contest deadline. All winning images will be posted on the PictureCompete web site Gallery. Finalists will have 30 (thirty) days from the day that the winning images have been announced in the WPN Newsletter in which to claim their prize. This 30 day period begins from the date of the first and original finalists’ announcement in the WPN Newsletter mailing. Winning entrants have 30 (thirty) days to claim their prize by contacting the offices of PictureCompete: info@picturecompete.com or info@wpnetwork.net. After the 30 day claim period has passed, without any claimants, the prize cash amount will be forfeited. All prize amounts are final and are non-negotiable. The decision of the judge(s) is final. All cash prizes will be paid via PayPal® only.
