ENTRY CONDITIONS

Any animated film including computer generated animation and combinations of life action and animation completed after October 01, 2015 may participate. The selection will be made on completed films only. Any borderline questions that may arise shall be decided by the festival management. For the preselection we prefer to receive a digital film file. In exceptional cases a preview-DVD (RPCO or 2, Pal or NTSC) will be accepted as well. In principle, if not with English dialogues, films must be subtitled in English. No entry fee will be charged.

For participation in the International Competition, the student film competition Young Animation and the children’s film competition Tricks for Kids are admitted productions up to a running length of 35 minutes. For participation in the student film competition Young Animation are admitted films produced by students or graduates of film schools, art colleges or other training institutions for animated film.

Animated short films and TV series for children can be submitted to the children’s film competition Tricks for Kids. Please do not submit more than two episodes for each series.

For participation in the feature-length film competition AniMovie are admitted productions from a running length of 60 minutes up. The films must not have been released commercially in Germany prior to the Festival.

ENTRY FORMS

To submit your film, please use our online entry form at itfs.picturepipe.net. Entry forms are required to be fully completed and have to include a brief synopsis of the film, a list of cast and credits, a CV and a filmography of the director, a dialogue list with time codes in original language and English, a list of subtitles in English, film stills (300 dpi, jpg), available press material and a film upload. The film may also be submitted in exceptional cases as a preview-DVD. DVDs and materials which have been sent by post cannot be returned. Closing date for film submissions: December 01, 2016 (date of receipt)

SELECTION

The selection committees decide on the arrangement of the competition programmes. The selection criteria will be determined by the festival management. The decisive factor is the artistic standard of a film. The preselection committee of the student film competition Young Animation may, at its discretion, make recommendations for graduation films to enter the International Competition. All film applicants having submitted a film for preselection shall be advised by e-mail by March 1, 2017 at the latest, whether their entry has been included in the festival programme.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS

To submit your film, please use the online entry form. On the official website (see "Further Official Information") you can create a personal account, access and complete the online form and upload your movie. For pre-selection purposes we prefer to receive a digital file. on the website you will find technical information how to upload your film. We recommend to use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome for the submission process. Films can be also sent on DVD.
