Rose and Sam Gilbert Fellowship

UCLA Graduate Division supports 2 awards for former UCLA graduate student-athletes who attended UCLA for undergrad and played sports on a NCAA team.

The fellowship can be applied to tuition.

HOW MUCH?

$10,000
Stipend of up to $10,000, which is applied to standard tuition unless the awardee has another tuition-payment source.

AM I ELIGIBLE?

  • Applicants must be UCLA graduate students who attended UCLA as undergraduates for at least 2 years and also participated on men's or women's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) teams (intramural and club teams are ineligible).
  • Eligibility will be verified with UCLA's Department of Athletics.
  • Must be nominated by the department, IDP, or school.
  • Transcript.
  • Personal statement.
  • Resume or CV.
  • 1 faculty letter of recommendation.

CITIZENSHIP

No citizenship requirements. Also open to registered California AB540 undocumented students. Funding will be provided only if AB131 is still in effect for the duration of the fellowship.
