Public Lecture -The Pension System “Join, Save & Learn”, AUA

The American University of Armenia (AUA) College of Business & Economics in collaboration with the Central Bank of Armenia is hosting a public lecture on the pension system. The lecture will be led by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Nerses Yeritsyan, Fund Manager of C-QUADRAT Ampega Asset Management Armenia Gayane Ordukhanyan, Methodologist in the Cosnumer Protection and Financial Education Center of Central Bank of Armenia Diana Bostanjyan, Fund manager in Amundi-ACBA Asset Management CJSC Hrayr Aslanyan, and Head of the Legal Department of the Central Bank Varoujan Avedikian.

The speakers will present their companies, educate the public about the fundamentals of the pension system, use current facts and figures as examples, and share experiences on how they have invested their assets. The lectures will be followed by a Q&A session.

About the speakers:

Nerses Yeritsyan is currently a Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (since 2010), and is the former Minister of Economy (2007-2010). Mr. Yeritsyan has over 20 years’ experience working in public sector and international organizations. He has extensive expertise and knowledge in macroeconomics, public policy and administration, and economic reforms. During his career, he has headed far-reaching and important reforms, including pension reforms.

Gayane Ordukhanyan is the Fund Manager of C-QUADRAT Ampega Asset Management Armenia. She started her career at Edward Jones Investment Company in the United States. She has worked in the Treasury of the commercial bank and moved to the Central Bank of Armenia as a risk manager of the Republic of Armenia foreign reserves in 2010. In 2014, she started working as a financial sector development specialist in the USAID’s FED program. She has joined C-QUADRAT Ampega Asset Management Armenia from the first days of the company and continues working as a fund manager till now. Gayane has participated in a series of seminars at the World Bank on credit risk, managing external asset management and applied asset allocation for fixed income portfolios and has successfully passed an extensive 10-month inaugural Actuarial Training organized by the UK Actuarial Society.

Diana Bostanjyan works as a methodologist in the Cosnumer Protection and Financial Education Center of Central Bank of Armenia (since 2013). She is involved in the development and enhancement of regulatory framework of financial consumer protection in Armenia. She is actively involved in the drafting and implementation of pension system awareness activities. Diana Bostanjyan holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Economics and a Master’s degree of Finance from Yerevan State University and Master’s Degree of International Business and Entrepreneurship from University of Glasgow, Scotland, and has a Certificate in Applied Economic Policy from the Joint Vienne Institute, Austria.

Hrayr Aslanyan began his career in 2007 at ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank CJSC as a specialist in the strategic planning, analysis and assets/liabilities management division. In 2010, he occupied the position of senior dealer, then from 2011 to 2013, he was head of the dealing division.

In 2014, he was appointed as a Fund manager in Amundi-ACBA Asset Management CJSC. Hrayr Aslanyan is also Member of the Board of Directors of AGBA Leasing CO CJSC. He graduated from Yerevan State Institute of Economics in 2005. In 2008, he earned a PhD degree in Economics from the Armenian State University of Economics

Varoujan Avedikian heads the Legal Department of the Central Bank since 2006. At the Central Bank he has spearheaded many of the legal and policy reforms. He also teaches Financial Law and Business Law at the French University of Armenia. Mr. Avedikian has Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, LL.M. from Boston University School of Law, and another LL.M. from University of Leicester School of Law.
