Padworth College

Since 1963, when the College was founded by Oxford University tutor, Peter Fison, it has been true to its aim of bringing an informal tutorial atmosphere to school-level education, where individual talents are encouraged and all are respected and valued.  Today at Padworth you will find that same atmosphere of care and mutual support, where the education of the whole person is of great significance.  At Padworth, we are proud of our small, supportive classes, individual attention and flexible boarding/day arrangements, underpinned by exceptional pastoral care.

We welcome students aged 13-19 from Britain and all over the world.  We offer a wide range of flexible courses which can be tailored to the student’s needs and academic goals.

There is no typical Padworth student.  However, there is a strong expectation that our students are here to work, to achieve their potential and to become broadly educated as a preparation for university and life.  Our students are challenged yet effectively supported and consequently, they develop a clear sense of purpose and optimism.

As an international community, we accept and celebrate diversity in a spirit of collaboration.  We also share a determination to succeed.  Our students leave Padworth as confident young adults who have not only achieved excellent academic results but who have gained a genuine insight into what it means to be a world citizen today.  What finer education for the future could be given?

Our College enjoys a beautiful, peaceful and secure location in the historic Padworth House, yet we are only 15 minutes from the university town of Reading, 40 minutes from Oxford and 40 minutes from Heathrow and London.   Padworth will soon seem like your second home!

Our website attempts to give a flavour of the college and its life, its students, its academic courses, its buildings and setting and the activities in which members of the college participate.  If you would like to know more – either as a boarder or a day student, please e-mail us at admissions@padworth.com and we will send you a prospectus.  You are welcome to visit us to see the college for yourself and to meet our staff and students – please contact us to arrange an appointment or attend one of our open mornings.
