About the speaker
Dr. Ronald Weissman is Chairman of the Software Group of the Band of Angels, Silicon Valley’s oldest angel group. He has more than twenty-five years of experience as a technology investor and executive. He joined Apax Partners, a global venture capital and private equity firm in 2000 where, as a partner, he focused cross-border deals and on software investing. Through his VC and his angel activity Ron has invested in or advised more than 60 companies and has served on more than 25 private company Boards.
Prior to Apax, he was Vice President of Strategy and Marketing and head of Investor Relations for Verity, a leader in corporate information retrieval. During his tenure, Verity’s executive team earned the Large Company Turnaround of the Year from the Turnaround Management Association. Before joining Verity, Ron spent more than five years working for Steve Jobs at NeXT, where he managed European and Corporate marketing.
A frequent US and International speaker, he has recently lectured and led workshops on VC and angel investing in different countries and the US White House.
