About
Vibha is a movement that empowers you to make a difference.
Our mission is to educate, empower and enable every individual who wishes to make a positive difference in the life of the underprivileged child. Founded in 1991, today Vibha has a volunteer network of over 2200 volunteers spread across 19 Action Centers in cities across the US and India. Till date, we have supported more than 250 projects in India and the US. Read more about our current projects.
All the projects supported by Vibha are exclusively targeted towards children. However, they span a wide range of focus areas.
Vibha's main focus areas are:
- Education
- Vocational training
- Care for physically and/or mentally challenged children
- Rescue and rehabilitation of children in vulnerable conditions
Judging
Judging panel will consist of more than 20 photographers with excellent photography skills and diverse backgrounds. The entries for each theme will be judged separately, in accordance with the judging criteria, as defined below. All entries must be submitted and received by Sep 26, 2016, 12 AM PST.
Proof of submission is not proof of receipt. Vibha reserves the right to examine the original photograph/source material in order to confirm compliance with these rules.
The judging process will consist of multiple rounds of judging to select the winners and the grand prize winner. Winners will be announced in mid-May, and notified by email. Decisions of the judges are final and binding
Judging Criteria
Judges will focus on these three criteria: Quality, Composition and Impact.
Quality means correct focus, free of lens flare, properly exposed, no strange color casts, proper lighting etc.
Composition means proper image alignment, effective arrangement of elements, has a strong center of interest or pattern or design, no distracting elements etc.
Impact means photo that grabs viewer’s attention, provokes strong emotion, shows subject in new, unusual and effective manner etc.
Your rights
Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. Photos will be credited to the photographer named in the entry form. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed on marketing materials of Vibha and Vibha supported projects; and the web pages, website, social media and blogs owned or managed by Vibha (Help Them Grow, Inc) without any fee or other form of compensation.
Number of entries
Only one entry is allowed per person. Each entry must comply with the requirements stated below.
Format
Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be 10 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG, JPG, GIF or PNG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
