2500 $ Prize at International Student Poster Design Competition, Germany

Publish Date: Sep 20, 2016

Deadline: Dec 31, 2016

Participants
All students of art, design, visual communications and architecture are invited to submit poster designs for the International Student Poster Design Competition „Age-friendly Living/Altersgerechtes Wohnen 2016“.

Intentions
Artistic: The competition invites contemporary artistic responses to the topic of age-appropriate and barrier-free design in the home with the aim of finding a new visual language with which to communicate the topic.

Practical: The competition aims to stimulate the attraction of proactively making home improvements that help ensure one can continue to live at home as one grows older. The poster designs should raise awareness of the topic of age-friendly living, addressing in particular the 40–60 age group. The message(s) they convey should be suitable for advertising purposes.

Holding an international poster competition also highlights the creative potential of young people all over the world and communicates it all over the world: the 100 best posters will be featured in a travelling exhibition that will be shown around the world, along with an extensive catalogue containing further entries.

Who can take part?

The competition is open to all students of art and design who are enrolled at a state or private university or art college at the time of submission.

Graduates of art and design courses may also take part in the first year after their graduation.

  • In German: “Altersgerechtes Wohnen”
  • In English: “Age-friendly Living”

Each participant may submit up to five poster designs (as individual works or in the form of a series of works).

All posters must be submitted online via the competition upload facility and must meet the following criteria:

On submission of the entry form (to be uploaded and submitted along with the poster file), all participants confirm that they are the sole author and owner of the rights to the poster.

On submission of the competition form, the participant agrees to allow the competition organisers to exhibit the poster in one or more exhibitions, to publish it on the competition homepage and in an exhibition catalogue accompanying the exhibition(s), and to use it to publicise the exhibition(s) and competition. Additional uses of the poster outside of these cases may be agreed on an individual basis.
