Interested in the critical examination of past and present developments related to gender in culture and society? CEU’s Department of Gender Studies attracts students from a range of disciplines in the social sciences and humanities, and focuses on integrative and comparative approaches to gender. The curriculum emphasizes interdisciplinary scholarship on gender and sexuality, particularly in areas such as nationalism, post/state socialism, queer theory, science studies, literature and popular culture, transnational connections, social movements, war and memory, and policy and global inequalities.

• Master of Arts in Gender Studies (1 year)
• Master of Arts in Critical Gender Studies (2 years, choose between Research Track or Applied Track with internship)
• Master of Arts in Gender Studies (GEMMA — Erasmus Mundus) (2 years)
• Master of Arts in European Women’s and Gender History (MATILDA — Erasmus) (2 years)
• Doctor of Philosophy in Comparative Gender Studies

Scholarships

CEU is committed to attracting talented students and scholars from around the world. In 2014-2015, we provided generous funding to 80% of our master’s and 92% of our doctoral students, for which applicants from any country are eligible to apply. To be considered for scholarships, complete the Financial Aid section of our online application form and indicate the type of aid you would like to receive.

If you wish to apply for Master of Arts in European Women’s and Gender History (MATILDA) program, you have until May 4, 2016 to submit your application.
