Cell Symposia Functional RNA, China 2016

Publish Date: Aug 03, 2016

Deadline: Aug 05, 2016

Topic

What an exciting time for RNA! Not long ago, small RNAs were taking the scientific world by storm, demonstrating that our long-held beliefs about gene expression were incomplete and providing us with new experimental approaches. Today, new breakthroughs continue to redefine the scientific landscape. RNA-guided genome editing allows us to modify genes at their endogenous loci, and sequencing technologies allow us to assess gene expression at remarkable scales, large and small. As a result, we are beginning to understand biology like never before.

Please join us for a meeting focused on how functional RNAs impact gene expression. Topics will include emerging technologies, new insights into small RNA formation and function, regulation of gene expression by long noncoding RNAs, genome regulation, genome editing, and more. Our aim is to bring together researchers with broad interests in RNA biology and its impact on gene expression to share their current research efforts, foster collaborations, and stimulate ideas for future avenues of research.

Conference Deadlines

  • Extended abstract submission deadline _ August 5, 2016
  • Author registration deadline _ September 12, 2016
  • Early registration deadline _ September 12, 2016

Location

Guangzhou (also known as Canton) is the largest and most flourishing industrial and foreign trade center of Guangdong province in south China. Located on the Pearl River, northwest of Hong Kong and north of Macau, Guangzhou serves an important trading port.

Guangzhou is often termed ‘the City of Flowers’ as the superb geographic and humid climate ensure flowers bloom all year round.

Guangzhou has a reputation of great eminence in the modern history of China. The historical sites of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Huanghuagang 72 Martyr Cemetery, Guangzhou Luxun Memorial Hall, Peasant Movemnet Institute and the former site of Huangpu Military Academy are the witnesses of the modern history of China, and together with the Baiyun Mountain, Yuexiu Park, Liuhuahu Park and Lu Lake, constitute a colourful landscape.

How to Register

Following the excellent response to our call for abstracts, we have extended the abstract submission deadline for the Cell Symposium: Functional RNAs until August 5, 2016 to allow participants additional time to complete their submissions.

Any abstracts submitted after the deadline will be eligible for poster presentations only. Please also note that we can only allow one abstract per presenting author. Abstracts will not be published and authors also reserve the right to publish their work elsewhere.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the organizers to ensure that the topic of the submission is consistent with the scope of the topics covered at the symposium. A small number of abstracts will be selected for short talks by the organizing committee.

A condition of submission is that, if accepted, the poster and/or talk will be presented at the conference by one of the authors.

Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all correspondence.

The registration fee varies from $60 to $900.

If registered for the Functional RNAs you may also register for the CNAF ’16 at a 30% discounted rate. If registered for CNAF ’16, receive a $150 discount off your Functional RNAs registration.
