OPEN CALL for writers
Application date: From February 1st until March 1st 2017
Required documentation:
-One .pdf file titled: “surname-canserrat-Wcall-feb-2017”
The file must contain:
- Recent work (prose, poetry, script, etc.) 3 pages (max.)
- A recording of your voice reading part of your recent work
- Statement
- CV
The application has to be sent using the application form (find it on the official website).
The file can’t be more than 5MB size.
Through this Open Call CAN SERRAT will select one writer for a residency of two months.
This residency will include private acommodation, private working space, food supplies and material and human resources [The grant does not include travel costs]. A part from this, Can Serrat offers to a limited number of writers 70%, 50% and 30% grants.
Can Serrat, is a rustic house close to an old and mysterious mountain – there is no topic to answer, although jury expects proposals who take in consideration the place and its artistic line – as well as it is expected from the artist a position regarding contemporary creation
TO THE DISPOSITION OF THE FULL GRANTED ARTIST:
- private bedroom
- private studio
- food supply
- human & technical resources regarding the project
- access to all equipment
- access to all the activities organized by Can Serrat (visit to art spaces, presentation of local projects, etc)
- communication through social medias
WHAT THE RESIDENCY EXPECT FROM THE ARTIST:
- a regular and serious work during the residency time
- participation to project presentation
- public reading at El Bruc’s Library
- communicating the name of CAN SERRAT when it is related to the project realized here
- before leaving Can Serrat giving a digital document summarizing the project realized + biography + sound recording of your project
Result will be out in April 2017.
If selected for the full grant or 70% / 50% you might chose a time frame between April 2017 and May 2017 or between January 2018 and May 2018. If selected for a 30% support you might chose a time frame between July 2017 and October 2017 or between July 2018 and October 2018. There are no age restrictions or nationality.
