AWP Award Series For Novel, Short Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry
The Association of Writers & Writing Programs sponsors the Award Series, an annual competition for the publication of excellent new book-length works. The competition is open to all authors writing in English regardless of nationality or residence, and is available to published and unpublished authors alike.
There are four prizes:
the Donald Hall Prize for Poetry, the Grace Paley Prize for Short Fiction, the AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction, the AWP Prize for the Novel
The Donald Hall Prize for Poetry
Size limit: 48 pages minimum text

The Grace Paley Prize for Short Fiction
Size limit: 150–300 manuscript pages
Judge: Amy Hempel
The AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction
Size limit: 150–300 manuscript pages
Judge: Michael Steinberg
The AWP Prize for the Novel
Size limit: 60,000 words minimum
Judge: Karen Tei Yamashita
Entry fees
$30 for nonmembers and $20 for AWP members
Prizes
• The Donald Hall Prize for Poetry is an award of $5,500 and publication by the University of Pittsburgh Press.
• The Grace Paley Prize for Short Fiction is an award of $5,500 and publication by the University of Massachusetts Press.
• The AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction is an award of $2,500 and publication by the University of Georgia Press.
• The AWP Prize for the Novel is an award of $2,500 and publication by New Issues Press.

Entries for the 2016 competition will be accepted from January 1 to February 29, 2016. Please consult the guidelines on the Official website for complete contest information. Please remove all publication acknowledgments from your manuscript before submitting, and be sure to remove your name as well from the manuscript document.
