Recruitment of 10 postdoctoral fellows at the EHESS in 2017
Ten one-year postdoctoral fellowships (possibly renewable) are available at the EHESS starting September 1st 2017.
As part of a partnership with the Musée des civilisations de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée (MuCEM), an application fitting within the field of activity of this institution (the dynamics of contemporary Mediterranean basin societies) can be submitted to the MuCEM for possible co-funding and integration of the applicant in the MuCEM research and teaching department. These positions are in different areas of the humanities and social sciences.
They are open to early-career researchers who obtained their PhD between January 1st 2014 and January 31st 2017 from an institution other than the EHESS, in France or abroad. Those who have already had a work contract administered by the EHESS may not apply.
The candidates will indicate (up to a maximum of 3) the research units or centers at the EHESS (or with which the EHESS is affiliated) they would like to integrate, in order to pursue their research project as part of one of the activity programs of the unit/center (the list of centers is available on the EHESS website.
This announcement does not apply to current EHESS postdoctoral fellows. The selection process will favor applications with a strong interdisciplinary component, an international scope and a capacity for dialogue with several EHESS research units or fields.
To apply, applicants must include the following documents with the application form, in PDF format:
- a CV including the list of publications
- a copy of the PhD diploma or equivalent certificate
- the report on the dissertation defense, if applicable
- an application letter addressed to the president of the EHESS
- the name(s) of the EHESS research unit(s) or center(s)
- a postdoctoral research and activities project (five pages maximum) for one year that fits in precisely with the program of the research unit(s) or center(s) at the EHESS or connected with EHESS, in Paris, Marseille, Toulouse or Lyon
The postdoctoral research and activities project may be written in English. However, a good level of French comprehension and speaking is required. Applications may only be submitted online, starting on Wednesday February 1st 2017 and until Wednesday March 1st 2017 included. A confirmation of receipt of the form, subject to the candidate’s eligibility to apply for a postdoctoral fellowship at the EHESS, will be automatically sent by email to the address included on the form. The results will be available starting Wednesday June 7th 2017 on the EHESS website. The recipients will be contacted directly by the human resources department.
